REUNIÓN CON LAS FAMILIAS

El jueves 18 de febrero se celebró la reunión con las familias de los alumnos participantes en el Intercambio de Inglaterra, coincidiendo con el último día de la venta de dulces caseros para sufragar sus costes.

 Un año más nos es grato comprobar cómo varias generaciones de alumnos del Balbuena han podido disfrutar de esta experiencia de vida. Desde el centro queremos agradecer a todas las familias su excelente disposición, desde la compra de billetes a sus palabras de agradecimiento, pues todos de una u otra manera nos sentimos involucrados  en este proyecto que promete ser una experiencia inolvidable.

Gravitational Waves Detected 100 Years After Einstein´s Prediction

On 14 September 2015, LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) detected gravitational waves for the first time. After months of mathematical calculations they have proved they were gravitational waves.

VENTA DE DULCES CASEROS

                                          

Ya estamos con los preparativos de la segunda fase del Intercambio con Inglaterra, que tendrá lugar entre los días 9 y 16 de marzo. Durante los meses de enero y febrero los alumnos participantes venderán cada dos semanas dulces caseros en los recreos con el fin de recaudar dinero para el viaje.
Muchas gracias a todos los alumnos y familias de 4º ESO por su implicación como grupo.

Happy Groundhog Day!

In the United States and Canada, February 2nd is called Groundhog Day (or día de la marmota)!

On this day, we watch a groundhog emerge from its hole. If he sees his shadow, then we have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn´t see his shadow, then we know spring will be here soon!

 This year, he didn´t see his shadow, so let´s hope for warmer weather soon!

Of course, he´s only right about 37% of the time...
